Its a holiday, a catolic to be more precising, "corpo de Deus" - " God´s body" i think thats is the way that it says in english.
A break in the week to rest, meditate, relax.
Question: How many holidays are in the US?

There are ten "Federal Holidays" that government employees get off, but only six that private businesses celebrate: New Years, Memorial Day (last Monday in May), Independence Day (July 4th), Labor Day (first Monday in September), Thanksgiving (last Thursday in November), and Christmas. So most people only get six holidays a year. Even then, almost all retail business (so movies, restaurants, clothing stores, etc) stay open on all holidays except Thanksgiving and Christmas. Lame, huh?! You Portuguese have a bazillion holidays compared to us!!
